Inter girl jumps to death from 3rd floor of hostel building

ELURU: A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of a private college hostel building at Jangareddigudem on Friday morning.

According to police, Swapna Nayak (17) of Buttayagudem was studying first year Intermediate with MPC group in Vidya Vikas Junior College. She used to come to the college from Buttayagudem.

As the Intermediate examinations are nearing, her parents admitted her in the college hostel a fortnight ago. Swapna who sustained a severe head injury after she jumped from the hostel building, was rushed to a private hospital.

Later, she was shifted to the government hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. According to her classmates, Swapna was a brilliant student who got 9.8 GPA in SSC. Her parents Sisupal Nayak and Tesira are running Montessori Public School in Buttayagudem. Swapna is the second daughter of the couple.

Love affair is said to be the reason for her extreme step. Jangareddigudem Sub-Inspector B Srinivasa Yadav registered a case.
