Keep Close Eye on Work of the Government: Sarbananda Sonowal

Extending his New Year greeting to the people of Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal appealed to the people of the state and media to keep close eye on work of the state government.
While interacting with media, Sonowal said, “We will try to streamline our administrative mechanism and utilize our services every day in the New Year for the betterment of people. People also want administration to be streamlined and we have put thrust on it.”
The Chief Minister stated the BJP government came to power in the state because of huge public support. “The main demand of the public is to check corruption at all levels – from CM’s office to panchayats. We have already started a campaign in this regard. If we can check corruption, common people will get benefits of different schemes of the government.”

“I am not going to announce any new schemes today. All new schemes will be announced in the upcoming state budget. We will also implement all schemes announced in the last budget,” he disclosed.
On the sealing of the India-Bangladesh border in the Assam sector, Sonowal pointed, “We will do everything possible to seal the border.”
On the NRC update issue, CM informed, “We are ready to give the state an error-free NRC.
On the implementation of the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord, Sonowal added, “The Government of India has given us assurance in this regard.”
